Who We Are
“The gifts that Yoga and Mindfulness offer to me are abundant. I am honored for the time, resources, and energy to share these practices with others.
While what I do on the mat makes a difference, the true shift appears in how I choose to walk off of the mat- and show up for myself and others. In a world that moves swiftly, yoga gives me space to breathe, a moment to surrender, an opportunity to balance, and be- me.”

Meet Julie
Founder & Owner of Soul + Shine Yoga
Founder, Julie Strittmatter believes that yoga is for everybody and every body. During adolescence she came to yoga as a way to work out- but what she found was a “work in.” Yoga became Julie’s favorite form of self care to tend to her physical, mental, and emotional bodies. Since then she has been sharing the practice of yoga and meditation with people of all ages.
Julie is an ERYT 200, Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher, Reiki Level I, and holds a certificate in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. Having worked as a high school english teacher for six years, one of Julie’s passions is bringing mindfulness and yoga to classroom. As a high school teacher, Julie offered five minutes of mindfulness to begin each class. This eventually led to her teaching yoga and mindfulness district wide, collaborating on curriculum for teachers and students, and training educators on how to use mindfulness in their classrooms.
In pursuit of her vision to bring more mindfulness to schools, Julie is completing an M.S. in Transformative Education and Social Change. Julie currently works as a professor at West Chester University of Pennsylvania teaching yoga 1 courses to undergraduate students. She also offers yoga classes virtually and at local studios in Philadelphia. She also hosts pop-up community classes and workshops at local stores, coffee shops, and breweries.
In her classes you can expect to use equal parts strength and surrender to cultivate space in body and mind. Her yoga classes are light hearted, accessible for all levels of experience, and always offer meaningful messages.
When she is not on the yoga mat, Julie enjoys finding new ways to move her body, exploring the outdoors, and discovering new favorite coffee shops to write in. In and out of the studio, Julie encourages everyone to connect to their authentic self and be present in the moment- regardless if it is beautiful or challenging.
